Bursa Provincial Directorate of National Education,

headed by the Ministry of National Education, is a legal authority

which is responsible for the educational issues in the region. In addition to a Head Director, there are 11 co-directors and a staff of 342 who work in this institution. All education activities of 32.915 teachers and 590.380 students in 2000 educational institutions are within the institution’s scope of work. Bursa MEM is taking schools as local partners they can easily cooperate with. Providing school buildings, classrooms, learning materials, staff and technological equipment are some of our organisation’s fundamental responsibilities to help everybody benefit from educational and learning activities.

The organisation constantly aims to advance the quality of education in the region.The organisation has many teachers under the age of 30 and eager to learn non-formal methods to use in their lessons. With new methods and techniques, they can be more active in the lessons and beneficial to their students. In the field of Vocational Education collaborations with intense sector-school interaction are developed under the provincial Directorate of National Education’s administration. In this context practices aimed at ensuring the continuity of professional development of students andteachers are implemented. Though special priority is given to schools, the directorate takes an active part in forming education policy while implementing projects for different people involved in education including teachers, adults and adult trainers as well as education providers in general. Besides, with seminars, conferences and in-service training courses, it has gained experience in creating training programme materials in the field of management, self-evaluation, ICT, Total Quality Management, Leadership and Democracy Education, Entrepreneurial.
