OpenAI is developing new context-compaction techniques, some already implemented in the Codex harness.

“Like uh I don't know but a lot of the the big coding agents like to do it manually I mean like if you look at the codex implementation of it in the codex open source codex harness you can see that they they use slash compact and do it um and uh there's also like new um by the way new compaction techniques that we are working on some of them you will be able to see in the codex harness like it's already implemented in the codex harness and so um uh they're like some file based”
